Philip Seymour Hoffman – A Legacy, a Tragedy.

RIP Philip Seymour Hoffman.

PHS w kidsPhilip Seymour Hoffman, an actor’s actor, a father, a friend to many, an influence.  He died alone, an addict’s death.

Addiction hits and hurts so many; the addict fights it and succumbs; strength is difficult and has to come from the village.

The news of Philip Seymour Hoffman’s death shocked me, the cause saddened me. I feel so much for his kids, his partner, his friends. Mimi O’Donnell, by all accounts she tried to help him, but it can be so hard. She must be devastated, all support and prayers for her.

A report of his last few days in the NY Times reveals an addict’s troubles with himself. His legacy is his art, the many he touched, his spirit.  His tragedy may help others and all of us to reach out and fight the battles and demons of addiction. RIP PSH.
